Funeral Rites at 3 P.M. Sunday
Funeral services for Simpson Leroy Bishop, 67, who died at his home, 248 Dauphine street, Friday afternoon after a short illness, will be held at the Hattiesburg Undertaking company chapel at 5 p.m. Sunday with Rev. I. E. Rouse officiating assisted by Rev. E. M. Bilbo. Interment will be in the Old City cemetery.
Mr. Bishop is survived by his widow Mrs. Lydia Bishop; two sons, Victor Bishop, Beaumont; Lt. Grafton Jack Bishop, U.S.N., on foreign duty; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Ward and Mrs. Sally Wells, both of Hattiesburg; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jack Odom, Jimmie Cook, M. W. Vinson, E. L. Busby and J. M. Maddox.
Honorary pallbearers will be D. McGehee, H. S. Welch, Travis Boykin, John L. Mixon, A. Connors, J. D. Caperton, W. M. Wright and W. W. Parker.
Mr. Bishop was a pioneer citizen of Hattiesburg. For 20 years he was employed by the Mississippi Power company and prior to that he was associated with the Eastman-Gardner Lumber company. He was a member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist church.
