Soule Mitchell

Soule Mitchell, 75, of Gloster, died March 27, 2007, at Liberty Community Living Center.

Visitation is 6 to 9 tonight at Brown Funeral Home, Gloster, and 1 p.m. Thursday till services there at 2. The Rev. Max Foreman will officiate. Burial will be in Collins Branch Cemetery near Gloster.

Mr. Mitchell was born March 9, 1932, in Amite County to Soule Mitchell Sr. and Tommie Wilkinson Mitchell.

He was an oil driller in the offshore oil industry and a member of Royal Chapel Methodist Protestant Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Walter Ray Mitchell; and a son-in-law, Randy Pendergraft.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Whittington Mitchell of Gloster; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Debbie and Mike Walters of Boyce, La., Beth Pendergraft of Greenwell Springs, La., Wendy and Terry Thibodeaux of Gloster, and Laurel and Jon Sanders of Alexandria, La.; a son, Gary Mitchell of Gloster; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Imogene and Willie B. Badon of Liberty, and Ginger and Sammy Lee of DeRidder, La.
