Statton Wiggins
Funeral services for Staton Wiggins, 84, of Swan, and father of Bobby Joe Wiggins of Carthage, were held Saturday at Swan First Baptist Church with the Revs. Abner Bryan and David Compton officiating. Graveside services were held Saturday in Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery near Winnsboro, La. He died Thursday in a Tyler hospital.
Born June 9, 1913 in Franklin Parish, La. he was formerly of Jigger, La. before moving to Swan in 1983. He was a retired cotton farmer and had been associated with the Plantation Pines Farms in Swan since 1983. Wiggins, who was a member of Swan First Baptist, was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Wiggins, who died on June 1, 1990.
Survivors include his son, Kent Wiggins of Swan; foster children, J. C. McNeese, Pat Lockey, Donald McNeese, Jerry Temple, Wanda Lebeaux, Eddy Quimby, Mike Oram, Velma Oram, Jeff Oram, and Travis Oram; brother, Dempsey Wiggins, of Monroe; sister, Irma Herbert, of Monroe; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Curtis Wiggins, Joey Wiggins, Chris Wiggins, and Nickey Wiggins.
