Stephen Bert Lacey

Services for Stephen Lacey, 43, of Longview, will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery. Mr. Lacey died Friday, July 6, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Lacey was born February 7, 1964, to Alfred Jr. and Norma Jean Boyett Lacey in Dallas. He had lived in Longview since 1978, coming from New Mexico.

Mr. Lacey was a Baptist. He was ham radio operator and a member of East Texas Amateur Radio Club. Mr. Lacey enjoyed model planes, cars and boats. He was a musician and a bass guitarist in a local band. Mr. Lacey loved children and animals.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete and Kermit Summer and Alfred Sr. and Marie Lacey.

Mr. Lacey is survived by his wife, Millie Lacey of Longview; mother and husband, Norma and Don Peck of Longview; father and wife, Al and Mary Lacey of Fate; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon Lacey and Volker Ruckgaber of Louiseville; stepbrother and wife, Roy and Jena Peck of Hallsville; stepsister and husband, Nancy and Jim Dillard of Waskom; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Calvin and Sally Strate of Hammond, Louisiana; numerous other family members and friends; and KoKo, Pebbles and Pepper Ann, his girls.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, July 8, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road.
