Died Friday, June 14, 1991, at Field Memorial Hospital, Centreville, Miss. He was 82, a native and resident of Gloster, Miss. He was a retired Herring Gas Company employee.

Visiting at Brown Funeral Home, Gloster, Miss., 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Religious services at Mary Springs Church of God of Prophecy, Gloster, Miss., at 3 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. James Aikens and the Rev. Clarence Wiley. Burial in Talbert Cemetery, Gloster, Miss.

Survived by wife, Bernice Bass, Gloster, Miss.; two daughters, Cynthia B. Lofton, Prairieville, and Marie B. Touchstone, Gloster, Miss.; four grandchildren, Antoinette Nunnery, Ethel, Skylar Nickens, Gonzales, Jason and Bradley Lofton, both of Prairieville; a great-grandson, Nathaniel Nickens, Gonzales; three sisters, Bertie Miller, Baton Rouge, Dollie Chaney, Clinton, and Floy Davis, Amite; two brothers, Lloyd Bass, Covington, and Burwell Bass, Clinton; two sons-in-law, David Touchstone, Gloster, Miss., and Bobby Lofton, Prairieville; two grandsons-in-law, Gene Nunnery, Ethel, and Jonathan Nickens, Gonzales.

Preceded in death by parents, Charlie Bass and Lillie Whittington Bass; three brothers, Don Bass, Gene Bass and Frank Bass; and a sister, Earline Bourque Thomas.
