Rites Wednesday for Mrs. Okley Jones, 84

Rev. V. H. Liles, pastor, will officiate in the rites to be held Wednesday morning from the Sunset Baptist Church for Mrs. Okley Jones, 84, who died Tuesday after a brief illness. She became ill at her home at 334 Guadalupe Street, and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Peterson Hospital.

Interment will be in the family plot at Sunset Cemetery under the direction of Plummer-Smith.

She was a native of Kerr County, and as Susie Hyde, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hyde, and her father was one of the old trail drivers of the Divide section. She had lived in Brackettville for a time, but most of her life had been spent in Kerr County. After selling their ranch near Midway, they moved to Kerrville.

She was a charter member of the Sunset Church, and was one of its most devout and faithful workers. She was a past matron of the Brackettville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her survivors are her husband, a brother, Arthur Hyde, of the Divide and a sister, Mrs. Ann Secrest of Uvalde.
