MCCRAINE, SYBIL ROBERTSON
Beloved wife, mother and friend, she died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 1998. She was 79, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Pollock.
She received her undergraduate and post graduate degrees from Northwestern Louisiana University and LSU and was a retired school teacher and librarian with 26 years of service in East Baton Rouge Parish. She was a charter member and church pianist at Westminster Presbyterian Church, a Sunday school teacher at Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church and Park Forest Baptist Church where she was also a choir member and church organist.
Visiting was at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel, 9 a.m. until religious services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by Dr. Randy Toms. Memorial and graveside services at Kitchens Creek Baptist Cemetery, Ball, at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by Gordon Robertson.
Survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard T. McCraine; a son and daughter-in-law, Roland and Jill McCraine, Zachary; a daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Jackie Rome; two grandsons, Paul Jordan Rome and Jonathan McCraine Rome; and a sister-in-law, Willie M. Havard, Virginia.
Preceded in death by her parents, Roland Pitt and Mora Hathaway Robertson; and her brother, Norman.
Pallbearers will be Billy Bennett, Daryl Brister, Neils Linschoten, Mike Murphy, Jonathan Rome and Jordan Rome. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Borill, John Braithwaithe, Archie Day, Jay Devall, Carl ``Brother'' Miller Jr., Michael Schurtz, Alton Toms, Sydney Wesley, Don Wingard, Mike Wingard and Travis White.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 10155 Mammoth Ave., Baton Rouge, 70814.
