Sybile Connor

Sybile Berry Connor, 87, died peacefully in her home on November 23, 2012. She was born in Dallas, TX on August 14, 1925 to Leonard L & Romie C Berry. During the Great Depression the family, including sisters Evelyn & Dimple lived in Henderson County. Sybile graduated with honors from Lufkin HS in 1943 before attending & graduating with honors from Business School.

While working as the company secretary for Wyatt Industries, Sybile met Joseph J W Connor, a company engineer on Christmas Eve in 1945. They married in 1947, parenting 5 children along the way.

Sybile was an active member of Bellaire Eastern Star #1021 for 52 years where she became their long time secretary and eventually a Worthy Matron. She continued her working career as well, becoming the office manager of TCF Inc.

Once Sybile & Joe retired, they often traveled throughout Europe, making England their primary destination.

Sybile spent the last 13 years of her 63 year marriage, caring for Joe who had Alzheimer's.

Sybile was an intelligent, kind, caring & strong willed woman who shared her faith and love in God. She & Joe were members of Advent Lutheran Church after over 20 years at Faith Lutheran Church in Bellaire.

Sybile is preceded in death by her husband Joe, daughter Roxane Payan, son David, grandson Jacob's spouse, Lacy Hamburg, and sister Evelyn Green. No doubt, all were there to greet her as she entered God's Gates.

Deeply saddened by Sybile's passing are son Jim & wife Sylvia Macias; daughter Cynthia Connor & huspand Randy Hall; daughter Faith Hamburg; grandsons Joshua Connor & wife Angela; Jacob; Andrew Evans; Tatum Payan; granddaughters Casey McCrosky; Kia Payan & fiancée Chad Cleveland, & sister Dimple Brinkus.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 15th Advent Lutheran Church, 5820 Pinemont Dr, Houston TX 77092. Pastor Larry Beck will be officiating.
