Funeral services for Sybol Johns[t]on Whitlock 87 of Calhoun, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 29, 2 013 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Bro. Brad Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Sybol Johnston Whitlock “Mama Syb” was born November 11, 1926 in Sikes, LA and passed from this earth on November 26, 2013. Sybol was born one of two children to the late Wainnie and Tennessee Johnston.

She was preceded in death by her only daughter Carolyn Spillers Wright and husbands, James Whitlock and Louie Dunn.

Sybol will forever be remembered by her brother, Travis Johnston and his wife, Dianne; grandsons, Jeff Spillers, Jr., and wife Sharron, Jamie Spillers and wife Kaye, great-grandchildren, Trey Spillers “Sugar Man” and wife Megan, Destiny Spillers, Haleigh Spillers, Logan Spillers , Jason Spillers and wife Skylar; three great- great-grandchildren Eisley Williams, Austin McKnight and Gunner Spillers. She also leaves behind many loved extended family members.

Sybol retired from Olin Kraft, then spent many years of service to the Ouachita Council on Aging in Monroe from which she also retired. Sybol’s love for “hunting” and spending time at the camp leaves all that knew her with many memories and stories to share. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday which she spent at the “Big House” camp with friends and family. This Thanksgiving will be spent with the family and friends that were waiting for her at the eternal “Big House.”

Pallbearers will be Trey Spillers, Jeff Spillers, Logan Spillers, Jamie Spillers, Jason Spillers, Isaac Howell and Rick Howell.

Visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
