Mrs. Sylvia Mae Hyde, 33, Buried At Sunset Cemetery Last Friday
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Smith Funeral home for Mrs. Sylvia Mae Hyde, 33, who died Thursday in a San Antonio hospital. Rev. Paul S. Van Dyke, pastor of the Presbyterian Church conducted the services and interment was in the Sunset Cemetery. The Men's Quartet of the church, A. W. Henke, M. L. Collier, Hilma Pressler and Robert Saenger, Jr., sang a group of selections.
The spacious parlors were crowded with sorrowing friends and relatives, and masses of fragrant flowers banked the bier of the young wife and mother whom Death had claimed for his own. The long cortege wound its way slowly to the peaceful Sunset Cemetery where she was laid to rest.
Mrs. Hyde was a native of Mason County but moved to Junction with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. McKay, when a child. She was married 16 years ago to Clarence Hyde, and came with him as a bride to the Y-O Ranch, near Mountain Home, where they have made their home since that time. Mr. Hyde is the foreman of the ranch. About six months ago she became ill, but was not alarmed as her condition was thought to be improving. About two weeks ago she was rushed to San Antonio for hospitalization. The attending physicians diagnosed her condition as an infection in the blood stream.
