T. M. Sikes

Funeral service for T.M. Sikes, 81, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Avenue, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Mr. Sikes' nephew, Reverend Danny Sikes and Dr. Mike Anderson of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

T.M. was born April 2, 1926, in Winnsboro, LA and passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in Monroe, LA. He proudly served in the Infantry during WWII while stationed in the South Pacific. In later years, he was employed by the Louisiana State School Board System where he managed custodial service for the Webster Parish School System, and for the last nine years T.M. has resided at the Northeast LA War Veteran's Home in Monroe, LA where he was instrumental in helping them build their chapel sanctuary. His life long love has been his faith and church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend and Mrs. J.Z. Sikes; wife, Doris Sikes; sisters, Sibyl Sikes Matthews and Lula M. Marcus [sic Moncus]; beloved brother-in-law, Elbert Matthews; infant nephew, Perry Jackson Sikes; and Sherman E. Matthews.

He is survived by his brother, Clayton J. Sikes and wife Mary Helen of Serepta, LA; sister Lois Sikes Price of Shreveport, LA and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be T.M.'s nephews, Dale Matthews, Rev. Danny Sikes, Darrell Fitzgerald, Paul Price, M.D., Robert Price, D.D.S. and Gary Sikes.
