Talmadge ‘Bill’ Hammons

MARION -- Services for Talmadge “Bill” Hammons, 72, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Conway Baptist Church near Farmerville with the Revs. Maurice Cotton and Herman Saterfield officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Hammons died Wednesday at North Monroe Community Hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Hammons had lived in Union Parish for 40 years. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Conway church. He was retired from the Louisiana Forestry Commission.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ellen Hammons of Marion; two sons, John A. McDougle and Otis McDougle, both of Marion; two daughters, Inez Till of Shreveport and Zelphia Johnson of Marion; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Carl Lemoine, Jimmy McDougle, Carroll Lemoine, James Lemoine, Wayne Lemoine and Henry C. Johnson, Jr.

Visitation will be at the funeral home until 1 p.m.
