Ted Lanier

Services for Mr. Ted Lanier, age 99, of Manifest, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville with Rev. Albert Vickers officiating. Interment will be in Andrews Cemetery, Manifest.

Ted Lanier departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, to join his parents, John Alexander and Fannie Torrey Lanier; his sisters, Jennie Lanier, Essie Oliphant, Delta Lanier and Julia Dayton; his brothers, Tab, Bud and Ernest; grandsons, Jace Bass, Steve Poole and Little Donnie Poole and one son-in-law, Donnie Poole.

Mr. Ted is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 58 years, Neva Richey Lanier, and his four “girls”, Jennie and husband Jimmy Cole, Lillie Poole, Patt and husband Maxie Taunton, Sue and husband Louis Smith. Papaw Ted is also survived by three granddaughters, six grandsons and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Ted, born May 13, 1904, lived his entire life on the family farm in Manifest. His entire life was devoted to his family, farming and raising cattle.

Pallbearers will be Papaw Ted's grandsons, Toby Poole, Tommy Varnell, Boogie Bass, Jonathan Smith, Daymon Bass and Earnest Poole.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons-in-law, Paul Book, David Shisdiskis, Chris Freeman and grand-daughters, Vicki Book, Gayle Shisdiskis and Stacy Freeman.
