TEDFORD BROGAN
Tedford Brogan, of 1324 First Ave., died Saturday at Methodist Hospital in Hattiesburg after an extended illness. He was 80 and was a lifelong resident of Laurel.
He was a retired sergeant with the Laurel Police Department and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the National Guard.
He was a Mason, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association, and a member and deacon of Second Avenue Baptist Church. He was also a pilot and a member of O. X. 5 Aviation Pioneers.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Oswalt officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Stan Herrington, Walter Williams, Charlie Brogan, Ernie Harris, Bill Holifield and George Pace. The deacons of Second Avenue Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his widow, Laudie Brogan, Laurel; one son, Dr. Richard Brogan, Clinton; one brother, N. B. Brogan, McComb; one sister, Vera Sinquefield, Pascagoula; and three grandchildren.
The family requests that donations be made to the Mississippi Baptist Semianry [sic Seminary] at 3160 Lynch St., Jackson, or the Kidney Foundation in place of flowers.
Memory Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
