Aged Heights Woman Died On Sunday

Mrs. Tennie Powell died Sunday morning at Caldwell Parish Hospital after a short illness. She was 76 years of age.

Funeral services were at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Columbia Church of God with Rev. Mrs. Ruby Robinson officiating.

Burial followed in the Olla Cemetery under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Survivors include: two sons, Alvin J. Powell, Bensonville, Ill.; Alfred Powell, Baton Rouge; five daughters, Mrs. Shirley Tillman, Bastrop; Mrs. Trudie Beck, West Monroe; Mrs. Allie Osteen, Mrs. Ludie Starnes and Mrs. Ruby Russell, all of Columbia; five half brothers, Frank Varnell, Doc Varnell and Jimmy Varnell, all of Columbia; Homer Varnell of Winnfield and Bill Varnell of Ball; two half sisters, Mrs. Audie Battaglia of Monroe and Mrs. Mora Parker of Jonesboro; 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
