Tennie Mae Hawthorne

Passed away on October 26, 2006 in Wills Point, Texas. She was born on July 11, 1915 in Princeton, Texas to Rubin and Martha Lambert. Tennie was the 9th of 10 children born to this union. She was a homemaker all of her life and had a special affinity with young children whom she taught in Sunday School for many years. After she was widowed she lived in the community of Whitton in the outskirts of Canton where she enjoyed a peaceful retirement spending her time walking and commuting with nature. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Tennie is survived by her children, Bill Hawthorne and wife, Jimmie of Ft. Worth, Texas, Bobby Hawthorne and wife, Karen of Dallas, Texas, Rick Hawthorne and wife, Pamela of Terrell, Texas, and Susie Sweeney and husband, Larry of Terrell, Texas; 8 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Ray Hawthorne; daughter, Betty Gates, parents; 6 brothers; and 3 sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, October 27, 2006 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Seagoville, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Roselawn Funeral Home.
