Terry Womack Dies In Auto Accident Wednesday A. M.

Terrance ``Terry'' Womack, 19, was killed late Wednesday morning in Sikes when a car he was working on fell on him, according to unofficial reports.

Womack was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Womack of Sikes. He reportedly was working alone on his car at a garage owned by his cousin, R. L. Womack. He was found by his father under the car at 11 a.m., but it was not known how long he had been dead.

According to reports, he was removing a transmission from the car when it fell, crushing him.

Womack was married in October, 1969, to Ritta Gail Parker. They lived on Pecan Street in Winnfield. He was a logger.

Survivors besides his parents and widow are two sisters, Mrs. Bennie James, Winnfield, and Mrs. David McCarty, Grayson; two brothers, Karl Lane Womack, Fort Polk and Kenneth Ray Womack, Sikes; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Womack, Sikes, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hatten of Sikes.

The body was taken to Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.

Accident Victim Terry Womack Buried March 5

Funeral services for Terrance ``Terry'' Womack, 19, who was killed March 4 when the car under which he was working fell on him, were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the Hart Assembly of God Church.

Services were conducted by the Revs. Lonnie Fogger and Martin Marvin Maye. Burial was in Wright Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Womack was alone removing the transmission from his car when it fell, crushing him. He was found by his father, Karl Womack of Sikes, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to Winn Parish Coroner, Dr. Billy Floyd.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rita Womack of Sikes; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Womack of Sikes; two brothers, Karl Lane Womack at Ft. Polk and Kenneth Ray Womack of Sikes; two sisters, Mrs. Rita Gayle James of Winnfield and Mrs. Barbara Jean McCarty of Grayson; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Womack, and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hatten, all of Sikes.
