Terry Mack McCarty

LAFAYETTE -- A native of Laurel, Miss. and resident of Lafayette, La. and a long time resident of Amelia, La., Terry Mack McCarty passed away at his home after his bout with cancer. He was 56 years old and loved and lived life to its fullest.

He loved hunting and fishing and was a loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. To most who knew him, he was Big ``T''.

He leaves to bear witness to his life, his wife of 32 years, Virginia Justilian McCarty, of Lafayette, La.; a brother and his wife, Larry and Barbara McCarty, of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Patsy King, Peggy Roberts and her husband, Jimmy, both of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Gail Long and her husband, Jim, of Laurel, Miss.; his nephews, Joel and wife, Lesley McCarty, Brad and wife, Amy McCarty, Michael and wife, Lori King, Duane and wife, Lucrecia King, Perry and wife, Paula King, Vance King and John Parrish; niece, Penny and husband, Jonathan Hodgson; and their children. Also special friends, Paul and Sandra Martin and Sammy and Carolyn White.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Chellie McCarty; and a nephew, Eric McCarty.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro is in charge of cremation, no services will be held.
