Barefoot Friday morning, May 31 at 10 o'clock. She had made her home with her son for the past year. Mrs. Barefoot has been in failing health for several years but was not considered seriously ill until about two weeks prior to her death.

All was done for her that could be by medical aid, nurse, and close friends and relatives but God knew best and called her home to be at rest. She had been a devoted member of Calvary Baptist church since 1895 and was a regular attendant until her health failed. Services and religious meetings were held in her home during her illness. She was a leading person of this section and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were held in Calvary Baptist church Saturday at 3 o'clock by the regular pastor, Rev. E. C. Keller of Dunn, assisted by Rev. A. L. Brown of Benson.

She was laid to rest in the Lee and Johnson cemetery by the side of her husband. Beautiful tokens of flowers banked the grave.

Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased as follows: T. J. Lee of Rocky Mount; Hobart Lee of Smithfield; Rupert Lee of Four Oaks; Craven Lee of Newton Grove; Jesse Orange Wilson and George Westbrook Wilson of Sampson county. The flower girls were nieces and grand-nieces of the deceased.

She is survived by three sons, Dr. M. L., Roger A. P., and Paul B. Barefoot; two grandsons, J. J. and Earl Barefoot; one brother, Mordecai Lee II, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Wilson of Sampson county.
