Thelma Prince Sanders

MINDEN, LA - Funeral services for Thelma Prince Sanders will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 4 at Lakeview United Methodist Church and burial will immediately follow at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Wayne Howington, assisted by the Rev. Carol Heard with a very special moment of memories by granddaughter, Kelley Cordray.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 3 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Rose-Neath's Minden Chapel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Dolly Prince brothers, Ishaemel, Victor and Edsel Prince, and sister, Nelda Rae Prince.

Mrs. Sanders, a native of Gaars Mill, LA was born on June 9, 1917 and has been a resident of Minden for 46 years. She graduated summa cum laude, Gaars Mill High School and graduated from Louisiana Tech University. She was a retired elementary education teacher with the Webster Parish school system, a faithful member of Lakeview United Methodist Church, Louisiana Tech Alumni Association, supporter of Webster Parish library system and a member of the Minden Garden Club.

She is survived by her husband, Will Ed Sanders, Minden, LA; four daughters, Sue Gruber and husband Warren of Minden, LA, Anne Whittington and husband Joseph of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Sherry Walker and husband Don of Phoenix, Arizona, Nancy Bradford and husband Pat of Shreveport, LA and son, William Sanders and wife Maura of Waco, Texas; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Warren Gruber, Joseph Whittington, Don Walker, Pat Bradford, Todd Cordray and Vaughn Tonsman.

Honorary pallbearers will be C. D. Cockrell, Ed Gulley, Howard Spillers, Paul Lessen, Clint Brewer, Pat Nation, and Eldred Lowe.
