Theodore L. Mick

Theodore (Ted) Leslie Mick, loving husband and good friend peacefully passed away from this life on July 20, 2011. Ted was born on February 2, 1920 to Fred and Alvina Doehr Mick in Iago. He married the love and sunshine of his life Sally Warzecha. Ted and Sally were blessed with forty years of happiness together. Sally's devotion and care of her soul mate has been a testimony of true love.

Ted served in the 1051st. Army Air Force from 1941 until 1945 in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He then served in the Air Force Reserve until 1953.

Ted was a cattle rancher for over fifty years. He was a cowboy in the true sense of the word and was well known and respected throughout Wharton County.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Alvina Mick and brothers and sisters, Fred Mick, Jr., Bertha Lee Bowen, George Mick and Ruth McLeod.

He is survived by his loving wife Sally; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynda and Tom Humphreville of Vista , California and Theresa and Wayne Guess of Boling; grandchildren, Seth Humphreville, Callie Grabow, Toya and Kippy Matthews, Jerod and Heather Guess and great grandchildren, Audrey Grabow, Kayla, Aubree and Trace Matthews. Numerous nieces and nephews also survived.

Ted dearly loved his family, Sally's family and his numerous close friends that have surrounded him throughout his life.

Following Cremation, friends may call starting at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23 at the Wharton Funeral Home and a Memorial Service will start at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Magee officiating.

Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
