Therrell Edwin Hassell

A resident of Houston, a former longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Pearson, Ark., he passed away Monday, April 23, 2007, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. He was retired from the Louisiana Department of Labor with 33 years of service, a charter member of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church and a member of Westbury Baptist Church in Houston.

He is survived by a daughter, Vicki Hassel Severson and husband Harlan Severson of Houston; son, Darryl E. Hassell and wife Penny Lambert Hassell of Baton Rouge; and three grandchildren, Craig, Branson and Andrew.

Preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Guice Hassell; parents, Howell Dennis and Veryl Moore Hassell; and three brothers, Joe B. Hassell Sr., Otis B. Hassell and Oral D. Hassell.

Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, April 27, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. David Womack. Graveside service at Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Sicily Island, at 3 p.m. Saturday.
