T. A. Phillips Services Set Tuesday At 2

Funeral services for Thomas Albert Phillips, 76, of Mexia are to be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Walter Buehrle, pastor, officiating.

Burial is to be in Mexia Cemetery, under direction of Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.

Mr. Phillips died Sunday in General Mexia Hospital. Born Oct. 4, 1895, in Montgomery, La., he was a long-time Mexia businessman and a rancher. He was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church and was affiliated with Springfield Lodge No. 74 A.F. & A. M.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Phillips of Mexia; a son, Col. Thomas A. Phillips, Jr., Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene; three grandsons; three brothers, Wade W. Phillips of Beaumont, Walter I. Phillips of Houston and Maurice Phillips of Montgomery, La.; and a sister, Mrs. Nettie Stanley of Alexandria, La.

Pallbearers are to be Willard Bennett, Clarence J. Best, Edward Carter, Leon Flatt, Robert Goodman, Horace Hatcher, Ed Hudson, Fort Smith and Jack Spencer.
