Thomas Alvie Davis Jr.
Thomas Alvie Davis Jr. (Tom), 76, of Springdale, Ark., passed on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2011, at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.
He was born Oct. 11, 1934, in Center, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Thomas A. Davis Sr. and Ada Parish; stepmother, Carley Davis; a sister, Jean Porter; and his wife, Florence Davis.
A U.S. veteran, he served in Korea and China. He received several medals while in service from 1953 to 1955. He enjoyed working with his hands, building and electrical work. He spent many years working in the poultry equipment industry. He loved to watch his grandchildren play and grow. In his younger years, he had a passion for working and riding horses. His favorite was Bulldogging! with his own personal record of three seconds flat.
Tom is survived by his children, Teresa A., Thomas A., Tony A., Tracy A. and Tammy A.; also by his grandchildren, Tonya, Travis, TaMara, Danyelle, Lacey, Sarah, Jamie, Thomas, David, Waylon and Alex; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Cremation was in Little Rock at Arms of Peace Funeral Home, Aug. 30, 2011. A private family service will be held in the fall at White Rock Cemetery in Shelby County Center, Texas.
