Respected Citizen of Columbia Is Victim of Heart Failure Attack

Columbia, La., July 12. -- Thomas A. Meredith one of Columbia's most respected citizens was found dead in bead at his home here this morning. Mr. Meredith was going about his business as usual yesterday and seemed to be in better spirits than usual. His death was due to heart failure.

The deceased is survived by his widow, five children, two of whom live in Shreveport and three here in Caldwell parish, and by numerous other relatives.

Mr. Meredith was a native of Caldwell parish and was about sixty-five years old. His father, Harmoa [sic Ansley] Meredith, belonged to one of the pioneer families of Louisiana was a veteran of the Civil war.
