Thomas Ardis Emmons

SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Thomas Ardis Emmons, 76, will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 9, 1993 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Stowell, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, La.

Mr. Emmons died Tuesday, September 7, 1993 at Highland Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Henrietta, Texas, was a former resident of Pleasant Hill, La. and had resided in Shreveport for 51 years. Mr. Emmons was a retired engineer for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, a member of United Transportation Union, National Rifle Association and B.A.S.S.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Gregory Emmons and son, Michael A. Emmons.

Survivors include two sons, John T. Emmons and wife Connie, Jimmy L. Pierce and wife, Bibbit, all of Shreveport; two daughters, Mary Beth Lawrason and husband, Butch of Marshall, TX, Martha Kay Peters of Shreveport; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Lewis, Steven Lawrason, Greg Lawrason, Danny Pierce, Charles Peters and Bryan Peters.

Special thanks to Dr. John Gregorio and the nursing staff at Highland Hospital. The family would like to express love to Virginia Hamilton, Ruth Jackson and Beverly Buck for their care during our father's illness.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.
