Thomas Aubrey Waits
Services for Thomas Aubrey Waits, 81, of Henderson are scheduled for 11 a.m. today, January 13, 2010, at Chalk Hill Assembly Of God Church with Dr. Jimmy Ames, the Rev. Jimmie Ferrell and the Rev. Gary Brown officiating. Mr. Waits died after a lengthy illness on Monday, January 11, 2010.
Mr. Waits was born January 6, 1929, in Chalk Hill, Texas, to Thomas Joe and Ruth B. Wilkerson Waits. He retired from LeTourneau, working as a welder. He was one of the founders of Chalk Hill Assembly of God Church, where he was one of the first elected deacons and held the office of Sunday school superintendent for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ruthie Ford; brother, Jim Waits; and sister, Pauline Munden.
Survivors include his wife, Emma L. Freeman Waits of Chalk Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Bill Helms of Tatum, Dory and Jimmie Ferrell of Chalk Hill, and Brenda and Pat Pither of Chalk Hill; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Murlene Waits; sister, LaVerne Freeman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Freeman, Andy Freeman, Stacey Waits, Joe Freeman, Randall Reid and Dave Armstrong.
