Thomas Roberts
Services for Thomas “T.F.” Roberts will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with the Rev. Kenneth Murrell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Roberts, 74, of Pineville died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, in Veteran's Affairs Medical Center.
He was a member of Wardville Baptist Church, serving on various committees. He was a member of the Pineville Lions Club, where he served on the board of directors as first vice-president and president. He served with the Lions Club Dixie Youth Baseball Club for 12 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served four years in Naval Reserves. He was also an active funeral director and licensed with the Louisiana State Board of Embalmers. He was employed by Futrell Chevrolet of Colfax as a car salesman. He worked as an agent for Central State Life Insurance Co. for many years and retired from Magnolia Life Insurance Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty Roberts four sisters, Myrtis Slaughter, Gladys Gillespie, Vera Slayter and Estelle Nugent and four brothers, Dayton Roberts, Alton Hester, Benny Roberts and Alic Roberts.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Nell Roberts of Pineville three sons, Bruce W. Roberts of Pineville, Scott Roberts of Colfax and Donald R. Bolton of Pineville two daughters, Susanne Martin of Winnfield and Linda B. Parker of Ball 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will Kenny Johnson, Chase Machen, Steven Parker, Jarrod Long, Ray Bolton, Katlin Bolton and Matthew Roberts.
Friends may call from 4-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of services Friday in the funeral home.
