Hood Funeral Is Held Here Today

The funeral of Thomas L. Hood, Jr., head collection teller in the Ouachita National Bank, who died of a sudden heart attack Sunday, was held in the Mulhearn Funeral Home chapel Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

Rev. W. D. Milton, pastor of the West Monroe First Methodist church, officiated. Interment was in Hasley cemetery. Pallbearers were: Lee Vanderpool, Delbert Rogers, Robert Cowden, Tom Standifer, C. D. Meredith and Jack Poimboeuf.

The Ouachita bank and its branches closed at 1:30 p.m. for the day out of respect for Mr. Hood.

Hood is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annice Hood, West Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Lorraine Robinson, West Monroe; one brother, Amos Hood, West Monroe; five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Poimboeuf, Mrs. Lillian Mitchell, and Miss Mabel Hood, all of West Monroe; Mrs. J. W. Hightower, Shreveport, and Mrs. Robert Adam Smith, Catonville, Md., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Hood was the son of the late T. L. Hood, Sr., who for many years served in the state senate. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, and the First Methodist Church of West Monroe.
