Rev. Thomas L. Parker
COLUMBIA, LA -- Services for Rev. Thomas L. Parker, 68, of Columbia will be
held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 1997 from the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral
Home in Columbia with Rev. Kenneth Givens and Rev. Oscar Holt officiating.
Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery near Clarks.
Bro. Parker was born in Clarks on January 24, 1929 and died at his home in
Columbia on Friday, May 2, 1997.
He built and pastored Banks Spring Apostolic Church in Columbia for 28 years
as well as pastoring other churches in the area. He and his son owned Parker's
Auto Sales in Columbia. He was also a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife Mildred Cody Parker and his son, Thomas Stephen
Parker, both of Columbia.
Pallbearers will be Larry Prestridge, Pete May, Charles Lutrick, Scott
Caldwell, Billy Slaughter, and Melvin Cody, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lacy Whittington, Will Primm, Melvin Cody, and
Jay Boggan.
