Thomas L. Whitten

RAYVILLE - Funeral services for Thomas Lillian Whitten, 78, retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Highways, forerunner of the Louisiana Department of Transportation, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, 1991, in the Crew Lake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cecil Mims and Rev. Howard Hutson officiating.

Burial was under the direction of Brown-Holley FUneral Home of Rayville.

Mr. Whitten died Saturday, May 4, 1991.

He was a member of the Crew Lake United Methodist Church, resident of Start and a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army.

Mr. Whitten is survived his his wife, Mrs. Katie Watts Whitten of Start; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Charlotte Whitten and their daughters, Rachel and Jessica; son, Ricky Whitten, and his daughter, Stacy, also of Start; two brothers, Rusty Whitten of St. Joseph, La., and BIlly Whitten of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Bobbie Hollingsworth of West Monroe and Mrs. Vera Davis of Start; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Doug Sullivan, Delbert Crow, Tommy Fuller, Bentley Curry, Walter Garner and Steve Adams.
