Rev. Thomas G. Mize

Rev. Thomas G. Mize, 74, of Laurel, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery.

A retired minister, he was a Baptist Minister for 56 years in Mississippi and Texas. He was a member of Houston Road Congregational Methodist Church. He was licensed pilot and enjoyed flying.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. Mize and Winnie Marie Shotts Mize; and a son, Clay Mize.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Mize of Laurel; special friends, Rev. Stanley Doggett and his wife, Ramona; number of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel.
