Thomas Marion Cruse Dies In Winnsboro

Thomas Marion Cruse, 51, died in a local clinic early Wednesday following a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the Lone Cedar church with interment in a nearby cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral home.

Mr. Cruse was born in LaSalle parish and moved to Franklin parish in 1909 where he has been a farm operator and school bus driver.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Cruse; and eight sons and daughters: Benton and Reggie Cruse, Winnsboro; Privates Elbert, Lemmie and James Monroe Cruse, all in the army; Mrs. B. L. Ross and Misses Joyce and Marver [sic] Marvee Cruse. He is also survived by one brother, Fred Cruse; a sister, Mrs. H. H. Wilks; two half brothers: Calvin Thacker, Winnsboro, and Essie Thacker, Sicily Island; and one grandson, Thomas Cruse, Jr.
