THOMAS N. McCARTY

A sudden heart attack claimed the life of Thomas N. McCarty, 39, at his residence, Route 1, Heidelberg, Sunday morning. He was an employee of Southland refinery at Sandersville.

Funeral service was held Monday at 3 p.m. from Corinth Baptist Church in Jasper County, with the Rev. Artis Brewer and the Rev. H. P. McDonald officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Alvin Myrick, Miller Myrick, Elton Walters, Oscar Welborn, A. B. Clark and Laverne Holifield.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Ray McCarty; one daughter, Marie McCarty, all of Route 1, Heidelberg; five brothers, Willie McCarty and Allen McCarty, both of Route 1, Stringer, Gilbert McCarty and Oree McCarty of Laurel, Junior McCarty, U.S. Air Force, Selma, Ala.; two sisters, Mrs. Deuane Scribner, New York, N.Y., Mrs. Eugene Ward, Cleveland, Ohio.
