TIM McCARTY

SHAWNEE -- Services for Truman Melton “Tim” McCarty, 61, Shawnee, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, in an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born on Dec. 22, 1945, in Coalgate to Lorene Key McCarty and Truett McCarty.

He graduated from Ada High School and East Central University, where he earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology.

He was a instructor of psychology at Seminole Junior College for a number of years. Later, he worked for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services as a drug and alcohol rehabilitation counselor in Tahlequah.

Predeceased by his father, Truett McCarty Sr., he is survived by his mother, Lorene Burns, Coalgate; two brothers, Truett McCarty Jr. and wife Sharon, Allen, Richard “Rick” McCarty and wife Rhonda, Wildwood, Mo.; two sisters, Pat Lundgaard, and husband Harry, Corpus Christi, Texas, Betty Peru, Cranberry Township, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
