Funeral For Auto Victim

Smackover, Ark., May 10 (Spl.) -- Funeral services for Tena Ellen Anderson, aged 18 months, were held at 4 o'clock Sunday, May 9, at the Mathis Funeral Home in Camden. The Rev. R. H. Reasor, pastor of the local Baptist Church, officiated.

The pallbearers were Doyle Williams, Buddy Chapman, Jim Ed Moffett, and H. H. Capehardt. Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery in Camden.

Survivors included her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam B. Anderson; one sister, Nancy, 10; two brothers, Sammy, 13, and Martin, 4; her maternal grandfather, Martin Stough of Camden; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Anderson, of Camden, and a number of aunts and uncles.

Tena lost her life about 5:30 o'clock Friday evening as she crawled from the place on the sidewalk where she had been playing in front of her home, to a place in the street directly behind the car of Mrs. Jim Ed Moffett. Not knowing that the child was there, Mrs. Moffett backed up a few feet, to turn around and upon hearing screams of the neighbors and other children witnessing it she continued backing up for about six feet and ran directly over the child's head. Neighbors immediately rushed Tena to the Kennedy Clinic where she died at 6 o'clock from a fractured skull.

Mrs. Moffett is in a state of collapse at her home as a result of the accident.
