Dr. Titus David Creel
Funeral services for Dr. Titus Creel will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the First United Pentecostal Church of Oakdale, with Reverends Edgar Farris, Stephen Judd, Tim Kelley and Anthony Mangun officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Dr. Creel, 87, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in his home.
Titus served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1951. For thirty-four years, he was a public school educator. He was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for youth and adults at the First United Pentecostal Church of Oakdale for over fifty years. He served as the church song leader and sang with the Oakdale Quartet for over sixty years. He treasured spending time with family and friends, traveling, hunting, fishing and making each moment special. He led a beautiful life of love and service.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty two years, Joan Marcantel Creel.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his brother, Maxie Lee Creel of Oakdale; his son, Roger D. Creel and his wife, Cindi, of DeQuincy; his daughter, JoLynn Creel McConley of Alexandria; five grandchildren, Britani Creel Moses, Amber McConley Eskew, Benjamin McConley, Lindsi Creel Walker, Aaron McConley and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at First United Pentecostal Church of Oakdale, on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers honored to serve are: Aaron McConley, Benjamin McConley, Franklin Moses, Johnny Eskew, Chris Rodriguez and Ralph Seaman. Honorary pallbearers are: Maxie Lee Creel, Charles Reeves, Lavasso Monk, Charles Johnson, Benard Chambley, David Brown and Kenneth Perkins.
