Tollie A. Taunton

Funeral services for Tollie A. Taunton, 84, of Jonesville will be held at First Baptist Church of Jonesville on Monday, November 15, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Brother Lester Johnson and Rev. Frank Bass officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Jena under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Mr. Taunton died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday. He was a resident of Joneville and a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendant of the First Baptist Church of Jonesville. He served in the Army during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his brother, J.B. Taunton; father, Oliver D. Taunton and mother, Annie West Taunton.

Survivors include his wife, Simmie Taunton of Jonesville; sons, Sammy and his wife, Terri Taunton of Ferriday, Don and his wife Judy Taunton of Pineville and G. Michael Taunton of West Monroe; grandsons, Brent and Jessica Prudhomme of Fort Benning, Ga. and Kirk and Angie Taunton of Pineville; three great-grandchildren, Lacy, Haley and Logan Prudhomme.

The pallbearers will be Ronnie King, Terry Smith, Brent Prudhomme, Howard Hardie, Maxine Taunton and Jim Wilson. The Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of The First Baptist Church, David ``Buster'' Barber, Joe Barber and Billy Edwards.

The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Jonesville from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2004.
