Bass Services Set Friday

GLOSTER -- Funeral services for Tom Albert Bass, 81, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. The Rev. Terry Johnston will officiate.

Mr. Bass, a retired farmer, died Wednesday night in Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville following a lengthy illness. Born June 14, 1897, he was a native of Amite County and a longtime resident of Route 2, Gloster.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Elsie Jackson Bass of Gloster; four sons, Tommy Ray Bass of Gloster, Roger Bass of Liberty, Jimmy and Hansel Bass, both of Leesville, La.; one daughter Mrs. Olivia Tarver of Baton Rouge, La.; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
