Tommy Brumley
September 22, 1940 - December 16, 2004

Tommy Brumley, age 64, of Verda, La., passed away Thursday, December 16, 2004, at Healthsouth Riverside Hospital in Alexandria, La. Mr. Brumley was retired from the Grant Parish School Board and was a member of Verda Baptist Church. He received his Bachelor of Science from Northwestern State University in 1963 and his Masters plus 30 in 1975. Mr. Brumley served the Grant Parish School System as the Montgomery High School Boy's Basketball Coach for 15 years, the Principal of Georgetown High School from 1991-1994 and the Principal of Montgomery High School from 1994-2001. He was also a talented musician who enjoyed playing music with family and friends..

He was the son of the late Addison and Ana Belle Brumley.

He is survived by his wife Janice (Dyson) Brumley of Verda, La.;

Three Daughters,
Kelly Horton and her husband Ralph of Houston, Texas
Kandy Dubois of Verda, La.
Brittany (Brumley) Zito and her husband Ryan of Montgomery, La.

Two Sons,
Michael Brumley of Natchitoches, La.
Jared “Bubba” Collins and his wife Tabbatha of Gonzales, La.

Nine grandchildren
Ryan and Ashley Horton; Shellie and Jannah Dubois; Kimberly, Michael, Katelyn, and Kyle Collins; and Drew Zito.

Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La. The family will receive friends at the Verda Baptist Church from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Friday, December 17, 2004 and from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday, December 18, 2004. Funeral services will be at the Verda Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 18, 2004 , with Rev. Jerrell Paige and Rev. Roland Hebert officiating. Interment will be at New Hope Cemetery in Montgomery, La.

Paul Brumley, Jacky Brumley, T.J. Lashley, Mike Dyson, Virgil Brumley, Jr., and Dirk Graves will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nelson James, Bobby Deen, ElRay Lemoine, James Simmons, Randall Fletcher, Bucky Dunbar, and Maurice Smith.
