Tommy Joe Willis

Mr. Tommy Joe Willis, age 64 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014.

Born Monday, July 10, 1950 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was retired from law enforcement having previously been employed with Northwestern State University, Stephen F. Austin State University, West Monroe Police Dept. and was an investigator with Ouachita Parish Coroner's Office and the 9th District Medical Examiners Office in Orlando, Florida.

He was a member of the LA Peace Officers Association, LA Municipal Police Officers Association, Past Member and President, West Monroe Police Association, Past Vice-President and member, West Monroe Police Relief Association, Member, First Baptist Church of Winnfield, Master Mason, J. C. Stewart Lodge # 460; Member, Winn Genealogical and Historical Association.

Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his Parents, Welby and Louise Willis and a Brother, Jerry B. Willis.

Those left to cherish his memory include his Sisters, Joyce Buxton, Alexandria; Julia A. Romino, Spring City, TN and Brother, James A. Willis, Livingston, LA.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 16 at Southern Funeral Home, from 11:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Tuck Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories, in Winnfield.
