Tommy Wade Elkins
Tommy Wade Elkins, 75, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 in a local hospital.
He was of Baptist faith, a member of Yellow Pine Masonic Lodge. He loved fishing, hunting, cooking, gardening and camping with his family. He retired from Amoco as a gas technician and was a Marine veteran.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Parker Elkins of Westlake; daughters, Joan Elkins Harrison and husband Tim of Westlake; Rebecca Elkins of Westlake; Diane Elkins Brown and husband Butch of Moss Bluff; brother, Danny Elkins and wife Sharon of Moss Bluff; sister, Shirley Elkins Roaten of Oakdale; granchildren, Cade, Sam and Sarah Harrison, LeAnn Adams, Jae Carlock, great grandchildren, Keenan Byrd and Max Carter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Gueringer Elkins and Homer Elkins, grandparents, Charles and Maggie Gueringer, grandson, Daniel Ross Harrison,great granddaughter, Lily Kate Harrison, brother in law, Tommy Roaten and son in law Bill Seger.
His service will be Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Rev. Wayne McIntyre will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and resume Monday at 8:00 a.m. until service. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery.
