Tressie O. Cooley

DeRidder -- Funeral services for Tressie O. Cooley, 84, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, in Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home. The Revs. Wayne Pounders and John B. Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Whitaker Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-10 p.m. today, May 29, and from 8 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Cooley died at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 1998, in the DeRidder hospital.

She was a lifelong resident of DeRidder, a former employee of DeRidder Steam Laundry and One Hour Martinizing and a sitter for homebound and hospitalized senior citizens. She was a member of Three Pine Pentecostal Church and a former Sunday school teacher and youth leader.

Survivors include her husband, Carl E. Cooley of DeRidder; one son, Coleman J. Cooley of Rosepine; four daughters, Etah Woodard, Evonne Vernier and Joan Hightower, all of DeRidder, and Norma Davis of Shreveport; 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
