Mrs. Trissielee Wyrick Emmons
Funeral services for Mrs. Trissielee Wyricke Emmons, 85, of Ruston, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 1994, at First Baptist Church in Ruston with Rev. Danny Wood officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.
Mrs. Emmons died Saturday, November 12, 1994 at her residence in Ruston following a lengthy illness. She was born in Winn Parish on March 5, 1909. Later her family moved to Ruston where she continued her formal education. Graduating with honors from Ruston High School, Mrs. Emmons attended Louisiana Tech University where she earned both th e Bacherlors and Masters Degrees. She began her professional career teaching in Jackson Parish, later in Lincoln Parish and finally as assistant professor of English at Louisiana Tech University. Her professional activities included memberships in Delta Kappa Gamma, Blue Blue Violet, Lincoln Parish and Louisiana Retired Teachers Association and being a life member of the Pierien Club. Mrs. Emmons was an active member of the First Baptist Church and assisted in the library for more than thirty years.
She is survived by her husband, Morelle Emmons of Ruston, and their two daughters, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; Elizabeth Green and her husband, Dr. James D. Green and their sons, Andrew and John of Ruston, Barbara Logan and her husband, Lt. Col. James Logan, retired of Colorado Springs, Colorado and their children Cheryl Briant and her husband Capt. Coy Briant of Germany, Dr. James W. Logan and his wife, Darby, and their children, Olivia and Whitfield of Little Rock, Arkansas. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Lurline Campbell of Arcadia, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 14, 1994, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
