Truman Welch
January 15, 1946 - August 11, 2012

Funeral services for Truman Welch 66, a fire chief of Winnsboro, LA will be held 10 am Monday August 13, 2012 in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home Winnsboro, LA with Rev. Jerry Goodman officiating. Interment will be in Providence Memorial Cemetery, Winnsboro, LA.

Visitation will be 5 -- 8 pm Sunday August 12, 2012 at the funeral home.

Truman was born January 15, 1946 to Brownie and Nannie Welch and passed from this life on August 11, 2012 in Winnsboro, LA. He was employed by the Winnsboro Fire Department for 42 years and was the fire chief for 19 years. Truman was a deer and fox hunter. He enjoyed horse sales and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers Billy Faye Welch, Noah B. Welch, Dennis Ray Welch and O. J. Sikes.

Survivors include daughter Christie Huff; two sons Travis Welch and Timothy King; two sisters Alice May Temple and Helen Morrison; 8 grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and his extended family the Winnsboro Fire Department.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Burns, Marvel Clay, Dave Hutto, Willard Hutto, Shawn Sullivan and Timothy Washington. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Easterling, Phillip Hutto, Lonnie Welch, Pete Welch, members and volunteers of the Winnsboro Fire Department.
