So when Uba Lee blew out the candles on her 100th birthday cake she didn't know all her favorite things would be there for her special day.
Uba Lee Davis has had a lot of birthdays but none of them were as eventful as her 100th.
“It's a special day for me for sure,” said Davis.
The birthday party had been planned for sometime but the day was full of surprises.
“100 is a big thing. We were excited about this and we wanted it to be a big thing for her,” said Sherri Tutt, Uba Lee's great niece.
And it was, Uba Lee's family and friends help make this the best birthday ever.
“I think it's great. I think my niece out did herself getting it all fixed up,”
said Davis.
Uba Lee loves watching the Bachelor and Sunday she accepted the rose. She also loves Dancing with the Stars so the Changing Lives Dance Center brought the steps to her.
Uba Lee's family teamed up with the organization “Just One More” to make the whole day even more special.
“Our dream is to kind of just grant wishes for elderly that haven't had the chance to do that one thing that they want to do or go that one place that they want to go,” said Kayla Tomlinson, President & Founder of Just One More.
Uba Lee is a die hard Astros fan so Just One More got some of the Astros to make a special video for the birthday girl and boy was she surprised.
“I sure was. I was really surprised. I love the ball game,” said Davis. “I just have always watched them. I've watched them for years.”
But that's not all. she learned that the Burke Mayor, which is her hometown, declared August 10, 2014 Uba Lee Davis Day.
She also got a letter celebrating her birthday from Governor Rick Perry and the President and First Lady.
So the question is...was it the best birthday in all of her 100 years?
“I think it's about as good as you can get,” said Davis.
