Ulysses Grant Dies At Age 79

Ulysses S. Grant, 79, died at his home on Route 1, Four Oaks, at 3 o'clock Saturday morning after a lingering illness. He wa a son of the late Benjamine and Appie Lee Grant of Johnston County.

A funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the residence of Elders Lester Lee and Frank Nordan. Burial followed in Barefoot Cemetery.

Surviving are one brother, Jesse Grant of Four Oaks, and three sisters, Mrs. H. H. Underwood of Durham, Mrs. John Rhodes of Route 1, Four Oaks, and Mrs. P. D. Thompson of Four Oaks.
