ALFORD RITES

The funeral of Mrs. Vada Alford, 38, Columbia, who died in a New Orleans hospital, was held in the Hall Funeral Chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Filer J. Seals officiating. Interment was in Hasley cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Charles Towes, Caril Boyd, W. V. Clark, W. E. Clark, W. B. Bynum and Clyde Cheeks.

She leaves her husband, Gus Alford; three daughters, Mary Lou, Joe Ann and Linda Sue; two sons, Gus L. Alford and James M. Alford; four brothers, W. M. Smith, Hammond; Sgt. M. R. Smith, U.S. A.; J. R. Smith, Jr., A. C. Smith, West Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. C. O. Boyd and Mrs. T. Clark, West Monroe; a sister, Mrs. B. L. Britton, Houston, Tex.; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Smith, Sr.
