Van Thomas Flurry

Services for Van Thomas Flurry, 61, were held at 4:30 p.m. at Tallulah First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Lawrence officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Flurry died Friday at Madison Parish Hospital after an illness.

He was a native of Bernice, a resident of Madison Parish for 25 years, a retired farmer, a former Xxxxry member, an Army veteran of World War II, a Sunday School teacher and a member of Tallulah First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lola M. Flurry of Tallulah; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Smith of Tallulah and Mrs. Peggy Dent of Vicksburg, Miss.; three brothers, Percy Flurry of Lancaster, Pa., Henry Flurry of Bernice and the Rev. Roy Flurry of El Dorado, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Baker of El Dorado and three grandchildren.
