V. H. Tonsman

Vaughn H. Tonsman, 24, of 9333 Poppy Circle died at 2:10 p.m. Friday in Schumpert Memorial Medical Center after a short illness.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Wellman's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy J. Crosby, pastor of Summer Grove Baptist Church, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. James Poole, pastor of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Tonsman, a native of Washington, D.C., and a four-year resident of Shreveport, was a produce manager for Safeway. He was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nancy Sanders Tonsman of Shreveport; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Hubbard of Haughton; one son, Vaughn T. Tonsman of Shreveport; one daughter, Casie Tonsman of Shreveport; two brothers, John Staley of Omaha, Neb., and Vernon Staley of Louisville, Ky.; and one sister, Mrs. Fred Evans of Minden.

Pallbearers will be Charles Blackwood, Mike McCarthy, Allen Calhoun, Fred Evans, Johnny Maxie, William Sanders, John Staley and Vernon Staley.
